my watchers" stamps I see all over the place. I may be wrong, but I can't see why I should support someone who doesn't do anything. Just adds me to their "friends" list, then disappears off the face of the earth. Not even an "occasional +fav and run". Just... quiet. I tend to treat those who comment once in awhile with more respect than those who just suddenly pop out of nowhere because I'm offering free stuff.

I really enjoy interacting with my watchers and I appreciate having them around. Having watchers who comment and/or favourite the things I post make me feel as though people actually care about what I post, instead of wondering whether people actually see what I'm doing.
Because of that, I try my best to be as active a watcher as I possibly can be. Like most people, I have a life outside of dA, so I understand that I won't always have time for everything. Or, sometimes, I might just not have anything to say! But yes. Even if the artist doesn't reply, I know that they probably appreciate having another active watcher as opposed to one who is simply a +1 on the watcher count.
